Moukaite, also referred to as “hicorite” or “mook jasper”, is a type of jasper found in Australia.   This beautiful gemstone displays colors of reddish-browns, gold, white and mauvey-pinks mixed in broad patterns.  These wide range of colors are actually finely-divided minerals of clay and iron oxide within this moukaite gemstone.  Moukaite, just like jasper, is a chalcedony, silicate mineral from the quartz group of minerals.
